i bought a m2000 this year thinking i was getting a good deal, hmm so far i am regretting it, having a prob with the 3rd shell chambering, drops it out but doesn't pick it up to chamber. Only happens here and there, but is a real kicker when you have a flock of geese in. You can put 3 shells in to test it, it works fine, get a flock in and it frigs up, what a headache. I've taking it apart and clean it and reoiled it, same thing. And sometimes the bolt release button is hard to push in. Any ideas out there or has anyone run into this yet.

I also have had this happen on rare occasion. I notice if I place one round in the chamber and two in the tube but dont drop the second shell to be fired into the feed lever everything works well.

The bolt release button can be hard to press if when you removed the trigger and re-installed it you didnt have good alignment for the locating pin and kind of forced the fit. This seems to bind the release button.

what do you mean but not dropping the second shell? do you mean not carrying one up from the bottom when loading?

i load mine......one in chamber and then two in the bottom tube, this is what i am having probs with.

Yes. After the magazine and tube are loaded you can depress the lever to bring up one shell from the tube, I dont fully understand what advantage this gives you but when I stopped dong that my problems with feeding the 3rd shot went away. Honestly I rarely fire all 3 and 2 are the norm so then I am usually reloading, so its been hard to figure where this comes from. I might duck hunt the last time this weekend before the Wisconsin deer gun season opens and see if I can repeat the results. Keep me informed.

I believe it's a function of the magazine bypass feature.
Under normal circumstances, when the bolt is pulled back, another shell will not be released from the magazine.

To override that feature, you can press the lever and a shell will exit the magazine and "float" on the carrier.

It would also be beneficial when shooting at the range when a single is to be loaded.

Much better explanatin by Tucker. I see the reason for the ability to float one shell on the carrier, on the same note you could just drop one in the chamber. It gives you a choice.
