Hello, i just joined the forum and enjoy learning from different posts. Can anyone tell me if the front sight on the stoeger m2000 is threaded or tapped. I would like to put a smaller diameter sight on. Anyone else using a different sight?

    thanks

According to Truglo (click to open PDF Chart) , the bead is 2.6mm threaded.

if you will go to the site that tuck recomends you will see that the condor has a 5-40 thread which means that all you have to do is unscrew it and screw in a new sight. i believe you are a little confused as tapped means that a hole has been drilled and the hole is tapped( internal threads ). a threaded item has external threads. go easy when you uncrew your sight , if they used a thread sealant it may be a little dificult to get started and you will break it off, if it is apply a very small amount of heat to it or take it to your local smith and have him do it. good luck

    djkrimer,

The TruGlo chart mentioned above only lists the Condor Supreme and Uplander. About six months ago, I was told by customer service at Stoeger that the base model Condor has a pressed-in front sight, not a threaded sight.

You don't say what model of Condor you have. I would contact Stoeger by e-mail before trying to remove yours. Give them the model and serial number of your Condor.

i contacted TruGlo who contacted stoeger and they were told that it is a 5-40 thread but they said they could research your shotgun to make sure, more than likely the new ones are 5-40.

    If you go to

    www.stoegerindustries.com/firearms/condor.tpl

and go to the bottom of the page, there is a clickable link that will tell you which condors have srewed in sights and which ones have pressed in sights.

Look for "Click Here For Specifications" in orange.
