I currently own a stoeger model 2000 and was wondering if I could shoot the factory full choke or improved modified with steel shot without damaging the barrel? Has anyone tried this or is it too risky?

    I wouldn't.

Nothing tighter than modified with steel.

The owner's manual says do not shoot steel through the full choke tube. I don't think my 2000 came with an improved modified? If you want to shoot steel through a full or improved modified, check out aftermarket choke tubes.

dont shoot steel through the factory full and improved modified chokes. you can bulge the barrel and its not a really good thing.
