After increasing the pull with my home made synthetic extender (polystyrene cutting board shaped with a dremmel) I decided to take a chance on a Benelli Shim. I spoke with the parts supplier and he told me the shim was made of plastic, so for $4.00 I ordered the "D" shim which is the thickest they have.

When I looked at it after taking off the m2000 stock I could see that the shape of the shim was perfect, but I relized I had to drill a small hole in the shim to allow for the firing pin mechanism to be completely extended when the bolt is pulled back. I also had to drill a very small and shallow hole in the stock to allow the shim to seat properly in the stock.

After that I put it all together and it made a nice difference in the drop. I have not shot it yet with the shim change but I will guarantee it will make a big difference based on where my cheek position is.

    NO MORE FACE RECOIL!

For anyone who says Benelli shims don't work, they are right. But with a cordless drill and literally 5 minutes of time they will work!!!

Patterning low? Then a thinner shim is in order... like an A or B.

If the gun is shooting high, the D shim will pull the point of impact down because it is thicker at the top. If the gun were shooting low, then you would need a shim that was thinner at the top, like an A or B shim. It is my understanding that most Benelli guns come with the C shim installed (as my Monty did) BUT the other shims are supplied with the purchase. To get my Monty to shoot where I wanted it to, I actually ended up using TWO shims (C+D) to get the POI down to where I could cover the target, like I am used to doing! I don't like the "Italian" concept of seeing the target above the sight plane... I want it ON THERE! It was shooting pretty high and it took two shims to get it down to where I was comfortable with it.
