I just bought a new Stoeger 2000 and I like it a lot. However my cheek hurts a bit after 100 rounds on the trap range.

The only problem I have is that I typically place my other auto loader (Franchi 500) on my cheek in a more forward position on the stock, and with the Stoeger I have to keep my cheek a bit further to the rear in order to keep the bead lined up.

I think I can remedy this by increasing the length of pull an inch or inch 1/2. Any ideas other than tracing out a peice of wood to do this? I don't want to scrap the stock recoil pad, but I'd be willing to go after market i.e. limbsaver to get an extra inch or two.

    Thanks...

Ther are slip on recoil pads available with inserts at 1/4 " increments. Comes with several so you can play around with length of pull. I just can't remember exactly where I saw them, probably Cabelas or Bass Pro. Good hunting!

I bought a slip on but didn't like it. I wanted it to look a little better and work better to. So what I did was cut two pieces of a cutting board, the white soft type, with a scroll saw and shaped it with my Dremell. I recessed it to fit in the stock and did the same so the stock pad will fit on the other end.

It came out great, better than I thought it would. I wrapped it with Advantage HD tape and you can't tell is been extended! The cutting board is made of polyetheline I think. It's very light yet very hard. I did have to get two new screws that were long enough to fit the extention. The whole thing cost me $5.00 and my time, about 3 hours.

I'll post some when I get a chance.

Also I have the letter "D" benelli shim on the way. I spoke to the company that deals with parts for benelli and the guy said the shim is plastic and doesn't see why I can't modify it to fit my m2000.

After I have at it with my dremell I'll let you know if it works!

By the way, I believe it is polystyrene not polyetheline.
