I just picked up my new Stoeger 2000 and love everything but the pattern. With duck loads the gun patterns well with modified choke. The problem is that when the Full or Turkey shoke either one is used, They both pattern about 8 inches low at 35 yards. This isnt normal, is it?? I would rather it pattern high, than low. Atleast if it patterend high I could draw a bead right below the target. However Now I have to cover up my target and put the bead about 8 inches above a turkeys head. I find this frustrateing.
What can be done, short of sending it in?? Can the stock be shimed, or do I have to get used to it the way it is. How uncommon is this? Thanks for all help. Bill

I don't have one of those guns, but I would suspect that the tight choke tubes you are having problems with are miss bored. The inside bore may not be parralell with the outside threaded portion of the tube. Try a good after market tube or maybe try marking the tube and back it out 1/2 round and see if the pattern shifts 180 degrees. (Shoots high). It probably not the gun if the Mod. tube shoots straight. Rod Miller
