Condor Competition model

I was at the Pheasants Forever convention in January this year, and the Benelli rep introduced me to a new Competition Condor (12 ga) with an adjustable comb, ported barrels, nice recoil pad, etc. He said the gun would be out in February, but it isn't on the website. Has anyone else heard of this?

yeah, i was thinking about buying one. i saw it at a store called Swedes in grand island nebraska. but once i held it i didn't like it cause it weighs a ton.

Their website says "Out of stock: Ships in 15-20 Bus. Days Accepting orders."

I called them and they said they hadn't actually seen one yet. I called Stoeger, and they don't have any brochures yet and won't until March or so.

I'm thinking of one for my company skeet league or my occasional visits to the sporting clay range. I want to see one first to see how they fit.

I wouldn't get one for serious (registered ATA or NSSA) trap or skeet shooting. If you just shoot league shoots, it's probably fine.

For competition clay target shooting where you shoot 100 to 200 targets in a day, you absolutely want a heavy gun to reduce felt recoil. Not only that, heavy guns swing more smoothly. For serious clay games, you want a heavy, smooth swinging gun.

But I own a condor plane jane and i run about 500 targets a week and it is holding up fine (so far) But I would be int in a competiton condor....

I have one of the Condor Competition O/Us. I bought it Jan. 15 in Lavergn, TN at Speciality Arms while looking for used O/Us to shoot clays primarily and maybe a few ducks. I have shot about 200 rounds through it and it has worked great. (3" Mag steel Through 7/8 Oz. handloads.) It has an adjustable comb stock with a sharp pistol grip with a palm swell. It has very pretty wood and nice bluing. 30" ported barrels with a nice rib and 2 brass beads. It has a non automatic safety and conventional barrel selector on the safety. It is heavy (I would guess 8 lb.s) but it points and swings well. The only dislike is the trigger. It has a gold powder type finish and looks like plastic. It is magnetic though so must be a cast part. The trigger pull has a long take up and a gritty pull. I don't notice it shooting it though. The pull is not sharp and crisp like a Beretta or Browning. Paid $525 and was expecting to have to pay $700-1000 for a used Citori. So far I am very pleased with it.

How sturdy are the posts for the adjustable comb?

You didn't mention whether it has an adjustable butt, so I'll assume it doesn't.

Timb99, The recoil pad on the Condor is not adjustable. It is a nice soft brown rubber of some type. It could use the top of the butt rounded off to make it easier to mount other wise it fits me fine and is comfortable. I'll work on pictures. I Have E'mailed pics. Must be simular procces?
