Thinking of buying standard Condor...thoughts please

I'm thinking of buying a standard Condor 20ga. O/U, the non selective trigger model, which I've seen retailing for around $400 more or less. I'm just getting into upland hunting and am looking for an affordable field 20ga. I can't afford something like a berretta, but I'd like to get some of your thoughts on the Condor as a good hunting gun, and for the occasional trip to the skeet range for practice. Thanks in advance for any help.

I think it´s a great field shotgun, even better if you choose a custom or adjustable stock.
Talking about upland hunts, it will do all the job a beretta does.
But for serious competition I would get something better. For ocasionals trips to skeet, like you said, you can brake some clays with no problem.

although i constantly bash the condor i would say buy it keeping in mind that its a 100$ gun sold for NO MORE than 300$ i paid 289 for myn at dick's im takeing myn out on sat phesant hunting but if its not raining im using my beretta. also be prepaird for some trouble with it untill you shoot at least 250 rounds threw it. as a matter of fact right after you get it go and shoot 5 or 6 rounds of skeet or clays with it to get it and you broke in that way it wont dissapoint you in the field and rember to take a spare gun

Thanks for the advice, just curious, why does it take shooting so many rounds to "break in" the gun? Is this common with most new guns, or just a problem or situation with the stoeger ?

evan though im starting to sound like a broken record the condor is not machined to the tolerances of finer weapons as a matter of fact it is poorly made. but with some work on the fit and finnish it is a fine first O/U field gun. ive put about 1500 rounds through myn and since ive done some tweeking it works just fine now except for the rust that i just cant get rid of or stop. i usualy suggest saveing up for a used better weapon but some times its just not practical.

I ordered a condor in the supreme combo version, I was disappointed at first that it did not have the auto ejectors on it. However I took it to out the same evening I picked it up and was very impressed with how well I was able to break clay after clay with it. Both sets of barrel shot to the same point of aim and from the first round to the 100th round I did not have a single function problem. The gun fits me very well and points perfectly for me. Even the supreme model is not exactly the finest finished gun, it does have nice wood but I would call it poorly made, I would say more like roughly made.

The Condors are what they are. Cheap O/U's. They work very well for what you pay. I own 2. One is 15 yrs old and only recently had to be put into shop for repair of a broken Hammer.

That said, I fall into the same categorey as many here who can't yet justify spending Big $ on better Models.

The Stoeger's offer great value in my mind.
