The user manual for the Condor O/U clearly states that 3" shells are required for this 12 gage O/U. The dealer I bought the gun from told me that 2 3/4" shells are safe to fire in the gun and that he sells customers that size shell all the time with no reported problems. Can anyone help clear this up for me?

I've shot 2 3/4 out of my 12 gauge O/U many times. I think that the manual stated that the shotgun takes either 2 3/4 or 3". Also, the specifications on this very site state that these are the length of rounds to be used.

No trouble with either size round with mine....

I cant see any reason why you would not be able to use smaller shells, its not gas operated.

Got an Email confirmation from Stoeger that Condor Supreme will shoot both 2 3/4" & 3"
Also have confirmed with 3 other members who have used 2 3/4" as well. Sooo I'm off to buy shellz !

I sorry but I'm totally new to this. Why would you chose 2 3/4 or 3" shells?

I plan on buying a coachman side-by-side today.

    Thanks,

    Don

    I bought 2 3/4" shell, 9 pellet buck shot. It's been 3 hours since I fired 1 round, and I still hurt. I can't imagine what a 3" round would be like.

My first gun, ever. A coachman nickel plated black stock, 12gauge, 3" chamber, 20" barrel.

I started looking at it after I bought it, and it looks like it had been dropped. One of the barrels is slightly out of round at the muzzle. I shot through this, so I guess it's ok?
