I recently viewed a 2000 at Bass Pro Shops and have a few questions.

    1. The forearm grip had some front to rear play (not corrected even after the associate installed two metal bushings). Is this normal or out of spec?

    2. The bolt would not stay open when pulled to rear. I also inspected a benelli montefeltro and it did stay to the rear when retracted on an empty chamber. Any ideas if I did somethig incorrectly or if there is a fault with this gun?

Overall it was light, seemingly well put together (excluding forearm), and well finished. Any help would be appreciated.

The forearm should not have alot of play in it.. probably just the gun tht you picked up....as far as keeping the bolt open, there is a trigger release on the right front of the trigger gaurd that releases the firering pin so that the bolt will stay open.. I have a 2000 and like it alot...great gun for the money ...with a little extra "green" you can have it fit to you and not miss a target!! It depends what kind of shooting you will be doing and how durable of a gun that you will need!! I use mine for sporting clays to duck hunting in the marsh and it has not skipped a beat!!! Good luck!!
