I'm still trying to take my new 2000 apart and I'm having a heck of a time getting the firing pin retaining pin out.(the one with the o-ring) I called Stoeger and they said it I should be able to pull it right out. I tried to punch it thru from the opposite side and got it out about half way but thats it. I don't want to bang too hard and mushroom the end. Anyone have any suggestions.

I have not heard of this before!! My retaining pin comes right out with ease!! I use a small flat head to pry it just a little until i can grip it with my finger and it comes right out.....maybe push on the firering pin to take some of the preassure off of the retainer and see if that helps..if not, i wold bang the heck out of it untill it comes out and then just sand the retainer to fit properly... i would suggest sending it to steoger but they do not have a very speedy reputation. Maybe a local gunsmith if you do not have the proper tools!!??? Sorry for your problem!!!!
