    Hi

The Nickel coach gun is really kool, but l had to put in $175 in custom work to get to function for my sport which is SASS.

Stoeger Ind has no customer service, so buyer beware!!

The Brazilian hardwood is not very hard and will come apart within a year.

I would stay clear of Stoeger unless Benelli did something.

what mods did you do for 175 bucks?i just got a coachgun for Christmas, see pics on stoeger forum, haven't fired it yet, upon basic physical inspection and handling it seems okay.gun test magazine favors it over ones that are twice as much and supposely well built,as for customer service I'll have to check it out . ------------------------you say buyer beware, what else would you recomend to other coachgun enthuiast? Being that l'm a cowboy (SASS) shooter l needed the shotgun to be flawless.
I sent it out to Coyote Cap whom happens to be the best gunsmith in this particular area.
If you need his web address let me know.
I now have an 18 1/2 barrel with a 1897 front bead, the gun breaks open like goose greese and the hulls shuk out like the wind. Safety is no longer connected and the barrel was altered to give a bigger pattern. Plus everything ws honed down.

It was a steal by a master craftsman.

The only complaint I have against mine is that it should have auto-ejectors.
I bought it about two years ago, and it shoots good, no failures of any kind. The wood has held up, no cracks in the wrist area of the grip, and I have fired both light field loads and heavy buckshot. I don't know if it came standard or not, but mine has a Pachmayr White Line butt pad (which it needs).
