I've bought only one gun w/o holding it in my hands first and that was a Remington model 8 chambered in .35 Rem. but, the guy gauranteed me that I wouldn't be disappointed and if I was i could send it back no questions asked ... well I wasn't disappointed - luckily!

But i'd say ask all the questions you can think of first and make a stipulatuion of sale prior to releasing the check from the bank.
