Benelli M-1 and Stoger Model-2000

Does anybody know what the differences are between these two guns?

By the pictures I've seen there is a small difference between the two in apperance. Is the Model-2000 just basicly a Benelli M-1 made with cheaper materials? Or is it the fact that the Stoger is made in the USA that keeps the price down?

I guess if anbody has shot both of these guns I would apprecieate some feedback.
I have looked at the M-1 but I haven't run across a Model-2000 in person (not that I've looked that hard)

i talked to customer service today and was told that nothing will interchange between benelli and stoeger 2000. i was looking for a benelli untill i heard about stoeger's model 2000. the price is right but i cant get a mag extention. i crow and duck hunt and need the extra shell capacity for crow and the reliability in bad weather for duck. now im back to looking for a super 90.

Benelli and Stoeger feel the same to shoot.

went dove hunting yesterday and the Stoeger kicks *** . My buddy has a Benelli that he paid $1200 for and I paid $540 and got 5 chokes and the 24" slug barrel.

He actually likes my camo pattern better than the one on his and laying on the tailgate you really cant tell the difference.

the Stoeger seems to have been more cheaply manufactured, but I have no need to shoot 3.5" shells and this gun was definitely worth the $$$ especially since this is my first semi.

I recommend it!!! it knocks down the birds just like a $2000 gun will.

when you say "more cheaply made" what do you mean? will you discribe the differences please?

I've also got a 2000 and am curious what seems more cheaply made about the gun. It does have a plastic triggerguard, but it is so smooth along its seam that I didn't even notice until after I got the gun home. If anything, I like the Stoeger's system a little better, because its recoil spring is located around the mag tube, instead of inside the stock.

MN Dude I've looked at these two shotguns but have never fired either one though. I know they both use the inerta system where as Franchi uses gas. I guess maybe you could call the Stoeger the poor man's Benelli. Baretta, Benelli and Franchi all use the same choke tubes "Type II" Hey TH3 glad to see somebody else on these forums hunts crows to. I looked at all three of these the Benelli M1, Stoeger 2000 and Franchi 612. I liked all three to. I bought the Franchi 612 in 12 ga. Without the plug in it it holds 5 2 3/4" shells in the magazine plus 1 in the chamber. Franchi makes a 3 shot extension tube that would give you 8 plus 1. I too am a hardcore crow hunter. I've only hunted them twice since I bought the Franchi this summer but the Franchi 612 in Advatage Timber camo has performed excellant.
