MR1 Assembly problem

Hello All,

I'm having a problem assembling my MR1. I'm at step 6 of the assembly instructions: "Lodge the end part of the cover into the receiver and push all the way in until the whole unit clicks into place at stroke-end, and fits snugly. Warning: as the bolt link passes over the trigger guard it must fit itself into the recoil spring tube inside the receiver".

I am unable to get it to fit snugly. I've tried many times very carefully. Please see the attached image. That is as close as I can get it to fit. If anyone has run into this problem before or has some suggestions I would very much appreciate some advice. Thanks a lot!

Two quick things: 1) is the barrel lock assembly seated - as in as tight as it will go, and 2) are you cocking the hammer back before you begin to unite the two parts? Not sure the barrel lock would impact assembly, but the hammer would; and variables are few.
