picked up a used mossberg 500 for almost nothin as a spare gun. it works flawlessly but the exterior has seen better days. im thinkin of pickin up the hogue max-4 butt stock and fore end and painting the exterior metal flat black. my question is can i just use a high temp engine enamel for car engines or is hat not a good idea?

You don't need hi-temp enamel for it.
Most use Krylon, but if you want something more durable take a look at http://www.duracoat-firearm-finishes.com/

I have a max 4 stock and forend and also a blued barrell for your mossberg. Let me know if your interested. Was planning on using the gun for a spare just like yourself, but ended up turning the 500 into a home defense gun.

how much for the max-4 pieces? what length is the barrel? if its longer id probably take it, if not ill just paint the one i have. im kinda sold on the flat black look.

Its a 28" ported mossberg barrell with 3 chokes.Maybee 3 or 4 rounds through it.Just got too spoiled shootin the Benellis and never took the Mossberg.Just tryin to get rid of stuff. How does 50 bucks for everything sound.

i will for sure. my ol' lady wants to get into waterfowling with me. im not gonna buy her a good gun till i know she likes it. for now ill let her use the vinci and ill use the moss. also for those nasty days when you dont want to take a $1300 gun out. ( it'd be fine but still!) thanks again!
