I just bought Stoeger Coach Gun.

This is my first shot gun. Can someone explain the chokes? Can I fire slugs from this gun?

You have an improved cylinder in the right and modified in the left. You can shoot slugs through both but IC choke will most likely be better.

Thank you! Can a choke added to make a wide target area?
If so what kind of choke would you recomend for home defense?

For home defense I would suggest cylinder bore, or the improved cylinder you already have. As far as shooting slug thru a modified choke not a good idea. By the way cylinder bore is a choke that is equal to the bore of the barrel.

the coach guns use a win choke,accu choke etc

Mine doesn't use win chokes (nice feather).

It is choked improved cylinder in the right and modified in the left.
