Does anyone out there have any first hand experience with the Daves Metal Works oversize safety. To be specific, I would like to hear from anyone who has used the safety on an M4 and in the LEFT HAND configuration. According to the DMW web site, the safety can be installed for left hand use without any modifications. Since I shoot left handed, the factory safety is very awkward with the pistol grip stock. The DMW in left hand mode is interesting, but only if it is reliable. Thanks for your time. Ward

Duh... just realized you wern't asking how to switch to a left-hand safety, but rather info on the DMW safety.

So, ah... nevermind. :p

Hi,
I put a DMW in my M4, normal right hand configuration.
The machine work for centering on the plunger C/L is not symmetric, so
I don't think it is reversible.
However, next time I have the M4 apart, I'll see if the DMW safety can be inserted
and work properly from the Left.

I use his safetys in my M1 and M2 yes they go left or right. I haven't put one in my M4 sorry.

I do know that LAPD gave the go ahead for his Bolt handle, safety and mag extension for the "office".

Thanks to one and all for your courteous replies. The safety is not very expensive, so I think I may give it a try. "Creeper", you may not have addressed my imediate question, but you did provide me with some very usefull info.--Thanks. I am new to this board, but I have already found some very usefull info. here as well as a little BS here and there. Keep up the good work.
