Are the brass grip frame and backstrap on a Cattleman solid brass or something else? If brass, are they coated with something. I'd like to get and 'aged' look.

this is pure speculation on my part, but i doubt they are solid brass since brass i a fairly soft metal.i would think i would be plated steel.

It's actually ordnance bronze.
