Antler spear

Looks like this guy got in a fight with another smaller buck and it took the antler right out of the head of the smaller buck. From the looks of what is left on the antler it couldn't have been very long ago. Probably lucky for the bigger buck that he was taken by the hunter so he didn't suffer a slow death.

was this buck killed in Kentucky? I was just wondering because I have heard about it but this is the first picture I have seen.
