Need some help. Just got in My new SBE2 yesterday and was trying to mount my Weaver 93 base on it. Barrel is drilled and tapped. When I went to remove the factory screws, there are no slots for a screwdriver. I scratched off the camo thinking I would find the screw slot under the camo. Nothing yet? Has anyone else had this problem?

They are hard rubber plugs which can be pushed out from the inside using a small punch or similar instrument.

I took mine to the Bass Pro Shop in Dallas. The gunsmith had to use a scribe and a small hammer to remove. Looking back on it I probabbly could have done it myself but why screw up the gun. Only cost me $10.00 dollars to have them do it and I was out in 15 minutes.

No problem.
I'm glad to see someone use the Search feature and actually find something useful here.
