thinking of buying a 1866 sporting rifle, never bought a uberti before, will it be good quality or am i asking for broblems. I seem to be hearing mixed reports about uberti and are not shaw what to think about them. Also does the 1866 have a nice action on them.

Howdy:
I'd heard some bad things about Uberti and EMF firearms in the past from a couple of friends but I gave Uberti a try anyway.
I have a 1873 SAA, a 1858 Reminton BP, a 1873 Sporting Rifle and a 1866 Yellowboy Sporting Rifle.
All of them are top notch quality and shoot great.
The rifles have nice looking stocks with some fiddleback graining and nice finish on the metal.
I bought them within the last year and a half with about maybe 200 to 300 rounds through them with no problems of any kind. I don't shoot cowboy action yet so can't say how they'll hold up doing that. In closing I have no complaints with Uberti firearms being made by them now. Maybe they had trouble in the past and finally got their act together.
Maybe I've just been lucky. Hope this helped.
Have a good one and happy shooting.

howdy, thanks for the information on the uberti 66. You have helped me to make my mind up. ive allways wanted a classic cowboy rifle for cowboy shooting, at the moment im useing winchester 94s,now ill will be adding a 66 uberti. Its good to know that they have a nice finish on them as well.
Thanks once again Old Timer, you will enjoy useing those firearms in cowboy shooting.
