Dixie Gunworks catalog shows an Uberti Remington 1858 style revolver that is 36 caliber and 1-18" rifling twist. However, I can not find it in the Uberti catalog. Has any body had any experience with that revolver? I am thinking of purchasing one.

I have the 1858 Uberti Remington, but it is definitely .45 calibre Long Colt. Love the gun, although it seems to tighten up quickly when shooting black powder. I purchased the R&D drop in cylinder and fire Long Colt's through it with great accuracy. Recently, I purchased the Pietta Open top Colt of the same period. The Pietta is much looser and does not clog like the Remington. Another difference is that the .45 cal Balls are harder to load in the Remington(when I fire it in black powder mode) than in the Colt, but in the Colt, the small left over lead ring is usually present, while the Remington cylinder does not produce a similar ring. Hope these evaluations are helpful.
