I bought my Cowboy I think a little over a year ago but haven't gone out to shoot it yet one cuz I've been really busy, but 2 kinda afraid to until I find out if this 1st generation SAA framed Uberti 1875 Cowboy can handle smokeless powder or do I need to use black powder cartridges in it? I know that the 1st generation framed Colts were black powder only. :D

Your modern made Uberti will handle standard commercial smokeless powder loads with no problem. Now if you have an old original Colt with black powder frame, that is a different matter.

Naw it's a New Uberti but the frame is made just like the Colt black powder frame (First Generation) I've tryed e-mailing Uberti asking them but no reply. I guess I'll go ahead and try the cowboy loads that I got in hopes nothing happens, cuz the gun isn't marked black powder only. Thx Gunsmith
