I am interested in purchasing an 1860 Henry, but have a few questions for someone.

How strong is the action? I have a Ruger Vaquero with the bisley grip and shoot hot loads for hunting.
I hunt Elk and Bear and want a timber rifle in 45LC.

How good is the accuracy?

Is the action smooth?

How is the balance?

Thank you for your reply Coyote

The 1860 Henry replica is based upon the ol toggle action which was inherently weak. The guns currently produced are satisfactory for cowboy action loads, but DO NOT use high-energy loads in them. If you want a very strong gun in which to shoot heavy loads, buy one of the 1886/1892 Winchesters, or, better yet, a Marlin Cowboy. Leave the 1860 Henry, 1866 and 1873 Winchesters for mild loads.
