Anybody got any opinions on the model 1872 Open Top? I'd like to hear what they have to say. I've been shooting mine for 3 years now in minor competitions. I've got a 5-1/2" barrel, .38 special, navy handle. Good balance, scores have been adequate. Would have been better if I had gotten a longer barrel (or had longer arms at this point in my life). Thinking of going with the birdshead Cattleman for the next pistol. If anyone has this model, glad to hear about this also. Please.

I have had the pleasure of owning one for four months . mine is a 4 3/4 round barrel w/hammer notch. it is a 38spl and shoots dead on for windage but about 1/2 inch low at 15 yards. It always gets good coments from others at the range. I would say it is a gret buy for the money.
