Thanks jimbop, the owners manual dosent even show the o ring.I would'nt even know about it had I not done some research prior to the purchase. The gun I bought appears to be unfired w/fitted case, chokes, warrenty card, cleaning kit,oil and choke wrench. Its the 24" advant. timber all for $575.Can't wait to try it out.

Lets try this again
I have a 912. I need to clean it. I cannot get the cocking handle from the breech bolt off. Does it unscrew?

my 712's bolt handle twists clockwise and pull hard seems to work My 712 has a retaining ring on the end of the handle and I think 912 is the same.

also make sure the bolt is released before removing the handle

Very smooth for a automatic, in my opinion. Had a Winchester SX2 and sold it for a 912. Glad I did. Better pattern and light firearm.
