Can anyone tell me what the magazine tube/inertia spring guide tube are constructed of and of any problems that are recurring with this model. I was thinking of getting one as a gift for a fellow hunter for his birthday. Thanks

Don't get one. I just talked to a local store owner. I wanted to get one really bad....lightweight, nice looking....but he has ordered several of them and they have all been returned for not firing and not reloading. It's too bad because the price is nice and it's nice looking.....wish they would give me one to try.

Thanks, I noticed that they don't use the exact inertia recoil system as the Benelli's, I am wondering if that is the problem. I also read Tucker's post about the recoil spring, and "strecthing it a bit". I would hope this year they would get that fixed, or maybe sure cycle can come up with a new recoil tube and spring assembly, because it is a nice little gun, and deserves a chance

Huh? I've had my I-12 since August 2005 and put 300-500 rounds through it and haven't had any problems. It has even fed some 1oz Gamebore target loads that it really isn't designed to handle.

FYI...One of the biggest reasons I've seen for the I-12 not firing is the lack of attention to making sure the forend is seated flush with the receiver. I know they can be a pain to mate up correctly because of the tight fit. If it's not fit flush, the barrel won't be seated properly, the bolt will be forward of battery and the gun will misfire. My 2 cents.

I agree with wallhanger, I thought the gun I bought was broken when I was just about to pay for it, the bolt kept on hanging up, the the salesman showed me that the forearm was not seated properly, porblem solved.

Well I'll throw in my 2 cents. Customer service does a great job making sure you get a functional gun. If you experience trouble call! I did with my 1st 2005 I-12. They just replaced it with the 2006 I-12 and It has been a dream. I have run 370 rounds through my new gun in the last week. No Jams,I repeat no jams. I even ran the shells in my blind bag through the gun. You know the ones that got wet or were dropped in the mud, and it feed, fired and ejected everyone of them too. I am really happy with the new gun and have complete faith restored in the Benelli USA group.
