Franchi 48

I'm puzzled. I have a Franchi 48AL and want to buy another. I've seen something called 48 A2. Is this the same gun?
Also I think I looked at a new 48AL a few years ago and it didn't feel like the one I own (20 years old). If they have changed, how does one tell the difference.

Actually, the 12ga 48 AL has been discontinued for about 3 years now. The only models made now are the 20 and 28. Don't know about the 48 A2, never heard of it.
