View Full Version : Franchi Model 2004 Trap need some help please
Okay so I found out what model Franchi I have and now I am wondering if anyone can tell me any information about it??? I am aware that they made another model that was a model 2003 (I think) that is an O/U. My model has two firing pins, is there any barrels that will fit the gun to make it an O/U? If so, what barrels, and what all has to be done to do so? I believe I have the serial #, can anyone tell when it was made? I believe the serial is 5030009.
Any information anyone could provide about this gun would be very appreicated. Thanks

Usually with the tolerances of an O/U shotgun, you have to either buy a combination gun from the get-go (usually something like 20 ga./28 ga.) or have a barrel factory fitted. Most manufacturers will tell you "absolutely not" if you ask to put a different barrel on an O/U, even if it's the same model gun.

I hate to differ with elk_snot9, this is why:
I own a Franchi Mod 2004 single barrel trap gun, just like yours, it comes with two firing pins, thus I can fit an OU barrel, I already verified this, went to my local gunshop, thy sell Franchi´s, I sked to handle the Franchi Alcione and the Titanium, asked permission to check if these barrels fit my Mod 2004, both the Alcione and Titanium barrels fit my receiver, they simply droped in! (unlike Beretta´s) and both barrels fired, (dry fire) and ejected cleanly, I even used my own forend on the OU barrels, the gun broke open and closed crisply without a hitch.
Franchi has not changed the barrels or receivers since the 70´s, thus you can buy an OU barrel, like the Alcione with 30" barrels with the broad rib and have a combo, the Franchi Mod 2005 came with a two barrel set.
