Just purchased a new Raptor, thus far after about 150 rounds I like it, being a LH shooter the shims are a great idea. I have two questions. The Adj. gas piston is set on the light setting, have experienced several instances where the gun failed to extract a spent hull. I suspect this is probably related to the ammo. being used, Remington 1 oz. gun club brand. These I believe are in the 1150 FPS range. There is a possibility also that the gun needs a good cleaning as other than cleaning the barrel I did not clean it, that is it is lubed as it left the factory. Secound question I suspect like all gas guns the composite seal (O ring ) and magazine action spring will require periodic replacement. Where is a good place to purchase these. Thanks :D

Well, if this makes you feel any better- the same thing happened with my 612 right out of the box. A thorough clean and lube and now it fails to cycle about once every 150-200 rounds, which I consider negligable. I use only low end ammo, too, like Remington gun club, etc.

Thanks, I am convinced that it is the ammo. Shot some 1 1/8 0z. 1200 FPS reloads and it operated flawlessly. The gun now has about 300 rounds through it. I really like it, but need to pattern it as I do not feel that I am hitting as well with it as I do with my 1100. need to call Franchi on purchasing O rings, and both return springs. Again thanks. smile.gif

My Raptor ain't got no stinkin O-ring...
One less part to replace I say.

After a closer examination neither does mine, being an 1100 shooter when I first looked at the piston I thought there was one. I am very pleased with it, have shot 500 round through it. Get very favorable comments from those who see it. I am not sure if the barrel porting really does anything except provide another spot to clean? I like the feature of no "O"ring to clean also. How frequently does one have to replace the spring on the outside of the magazine ? Thanks

As long as you don't store the gun with the bolt in the open position, it should last a very long time. I've never had to replace one on any of my shotguns, but I'm still young. (29)
