I'm thinking of getting into Sporting Clays at the urging of some friends. I do a lot of Preserve Bird Hunting to keep myself and my Brittany in shape but once the Preserves shut down for the season I want to keep shooting. I currently own an Alcione Titanium, 12 ga. that I hunt with and truly enjoy hunting with it, but I suspect it's a little light to shoot a round of clays with. Last week I visited my local gun shop and fondled/shouldered a number of Clays guns, mostly Berettas and Brownings, but they also had an SL with 30in. barrels that felt really good when I shouldered it. It seem to fit me a whole lot better than the others I tried, and was at least $200.00 cheaper than the rest. The SL feels heavier than my Titanium(with 28 in. brls.) Do any of you shoot the SL for clays and could you give me your opinion? Thanks

The SL is an EXCELLENT shotgun! Tends to have a little more felt recoil than I personally care for, but that can be solved with a Limbsaver pad. (By the way, if the Limbsaver seems to "stick" to the clothing, use ARMOR ALL.. it takes care of the problem!) Plus, as you know, you can add a 20 ga. barrel.

I agree, I have the gun and love it - best gun for that price range!!
