I've never owned an O/U shotgun, and I am by no means an expert on shotguns period. My question is: Why would someone buy a Franchi versus a Stoeger?

Just to compare:
Franchi Titanium with 12 and 20 gauge barrels $1875 (http://www.franchiusa.com/firearms/alcione-ti.tpl)

Stoeger Condor with 12 and 20 gauge barrels $600 (http://www.stoegerindustries.com/firearms/condor.tpl)

Granted that's full retail, but still, that's a $1275 difference in price. Is the Franchi that much better of a gun? If so, why?

Handle them and you'll see why. I think the Franchi is worth the difference.

I have to agree with Bill... Just not much comparison... I thought the same thing until I held both of them..

For me it was a balance issue. My Franchi is better balanced than the dozen other guns I looked at...
