I may have the spelling all wrong but there is a gun supposedly made by franchi. I think the name is Verona, but not sure of the spelling. I looked at one quickly while shopping and thought the quality looked good. Anyone have any personal knowledge of this gun? Thanks in advance

I am sure it is Verona. It is a fine looking gun, the comment on being Franchi made is not right, I think.

OK, I finally caught on ....Verona shotguns are imported from Italy by B.C. Outdoors a subsidiary of Eldorado Cartridge Corporation (PMC's baby) in Nevada. I've seen a few of the higher grade doubles and they do look good considering the price ... as for their reliability and function..???? I have no clue... made by Franchi..???? I doubt it since Beretta dosn't have thier paw prints all over them... but that could be wrong too.

Which one are you looking at?

I looked at the LX501 in both the 20 and the 12. Dicks sporting goods has both guages for under $700. It just looks so good! I'm leaning towards the 20ga for its balance and feel. I can still bust a pheasant pretty good with a 20 ga.

dirtybird, If you like it - go for it! Once you get it home and punch some rounds through it let me know what you think... always interested in hearing about different doubles.

Good luck

i purchased a verona from dick's last christmas.
i think the model number is the lx502. if im not wrong the lx501 comes from b.c outdoors. a few other sporting good stores also carry the verona all with their own model number lx50xx. they are all basically the same gun, just different engraving reciever color, cosmetic stuff. i had the 20 guage and loved the way it shoots. for the money it is sure hard to beat, kinda new to the sport but i wouldnt be afraid to put it up against the higher priced guns.

I looked at a Verona before buying my Franchi Veloce. Give the Verona a good look over before you buy it. The break action on the one I looked at was so stiff that I struggled to get the gun open. On the shelf they do look like nice guns so this one could have just been a lemon.

Ok......
I've read a few reviews, no personal knowlage here. The reviewers are saying that the verona O/U
are going to give Beretta and Browning a run for their money. The Price sure does, and the workmanship is real nice. I was looking at one for 800.00 dollars, almost bought it too. Right now I'm looking at a semi by Verona, not sure of model #
but it Looks like a bargin at 279.00.

before the ol lady bought the beretta i layed it down next to the verona o/u there realy is a difference. i also pointed it and worked the acton i didn't like it. it was heavy, too long in the stock and realy stiff. not to menton the little details that just wern't there. i know its not realy compairing *****s to *****s but realy im starting to notice the difference in the cheep guns over the more expenceve name type guns. realy what its comming down to for me is the weather.... last weekend i was out gunning for a rateings test in the middle of hurricane Ivan i took the beretta to show my buddies, but i shot the stoggie (which by the way, was rusting as i watched) i love the beretta but there's no way in heck im takeing the 1500$ gun out in the muck evan tho i love to shoot it. its nice to have and a joy to shoot but not as usefull as the ol stoggie. all i can say is look at a bunch and then decide. with all of these new cheep guns flooding the market all i can think about is who is going to last .... beretta has been around forever as well as many other higher priced guns. in 5 years is verona going to be around... to provide service? is any one going to work on it? or is it just a toss away like my stoggie
