Hi folks,
I was just wondering if anyone could give me any information about the Franchi 400.
I can't seem to find any info about it anywhere. The one I saw was set up for skeet: 28" bbl, choked cyl/cyl, low rib with a small mid-rib bead. The receiver was nicely engraved and it seemed to have quality wood.
I can't seem to find any mention of a model 400 when searching online. I'm wondering if that is really the model number, but I clearly saw the words "Franchi 400" engraved on the edge of the receiver.
Any general info you have on this gun would help, but I also have some specific questions...
- My biggest question if whether I can safely shoot steel shot through this gun. In fact, if I could just get the answer to this one question, I'd be pretty happy. smile.gif The gun fits me like a glove, so this is the only thing I'm really worried about.
- I noticed that it had the normal safety swith behind the top lever. If you moved it backward, it showed an "S" on top. I assumed this was the safety, but the weird thing was that it also had a small button on the trigger guard, like a crossbolt safety you see on semi-autos. Is this an old-fashioned setup? I know moden O/Us ususally combine the safety and selector switch. I'm a novice skeet shooter, and have been shooting a Beretta 391. This Franchi would be my first O/U...
thanks for your help!
