Well I bought a new 2000 in the max- 4. I went out Sun a shot about 160 thru her. I did shoot 3 boxes of 1 1/8 shot first , Never had the first problem (Knock On Wood)
With oo buck it shoots a little to the left, but that could be the choke Im getting a new patternmaster I will keep you guys posted..With #4 Turkey shot....Turkeys dont stand a chance, with steel shot BB'S and #2's shoots well but I like a tight pattern, so I will go for a aftermarket choke. My only issue with it is the recoil

Will a Mercery recoil reducer for a benelli fit my gun?

BTW IT WILL "FLOAT" THE 4TH SHELL

IMO, for get about the reducer and if need be get a better recoil pad. If you go for the recoil pad. I'll send you some tips that others have done. I never needed anything on mine but I never shot any heavy turkey loads either. I couldn't see but difference in recoil with the mercery reducer.

The Stoeger M2000 will not accept any of the benelli recoil reducers... I agree with tank, your best option is a good after market recoil pad.

My M2000 kicks a bit too, but I'll take the trade off any day because it hasn't failed me yet, hunting or target shooting!

.. I'm no fan of adding aftermarket weight to tame things .. sort of silly when you think of the balance of a gun and how it was designed..

Possum, I know people like the LimbSavers but have been told the Pachmyr and the Hiviz X coil are a lot better.
I do not know this, I was just told by a couple others that put them on their 2000. One guy cut a piece of ply wood the size of his pad, mounted the HiVi on the plywood then put it on his gun.
Like I said, I'm not telling you it's so, just do a little checking on your own.

Silly Birdog? Out of dozens of longarms I've owned the stoeger2000 is the must unbalanced gun I ever had. I don't believe manufactuers give a hoot about balance until you get into higher end guns.That said, as to possums question, I dont't have experience with merc. recoil reducers but I did make my own rec.red. from 3/4lb. of lead shot.Now my S2000 kicks about the same as my Ruger red label O/U (which still weighs 1/2 lb. more) and now the stoger is perfectly balanced to boot-Birdog! If your interested e-mail me and I'll explain how. By the way there is a formula for weight vs. recoil energy by the oz. Where you notice the difference is not in a hunting situation or firing a couple of shots, it's at the range after firing 25 consecutive shots or a 200 for the day.

call me what ya will ... but, everybody's perception of "balance" is different.

as for designers, engineers, 'test squads', and basic R&D are concerned .. balance in the form of handling is considered by manufacturers they don't mosie over to "buck-toothed-roy-the-well-driller" and ask 'em to "whittle up" a firearm .. tongue.gif :D
