Has anyone tried to remove the front site on a 2000? I bought a new glo site that I would like to put on the gun. I just don't like the white site that came with the gun. I'm afraid I will break off the factory site if I turn it counter clock wise too hard. Thanks

I did. No big deal. The site was easily replaced with a hi viz green one. Just make sure you use the 3/56 size. Loc-tite it as well, and you'll be fine.

You shouldn't be looking at the sight on a shotgun anyway. Put the gun up to your face and look at the target!

Slamfire, I decided to chance it and unscrew the the front site this afternoon. It came off without a problem. ( the reason I was hestitate to try to remove it was because the front site on the display gun at Dicks Sporting was broken). And guess what site I put on my gun. A hi viz green one...it looks great. The site came with 5 different size screws and the 3/56 size fit perfectly. Thanks Slamfire for your response.
P.S. Timb 99 has a valid point as to how to aim a shotgun. I think the front glo site is more for cosmetics then for anything else. Although I will be using the gun for deer hunting...the county I hunt in is slug only. I'm not sure at this time how accurute the gun will be with just a front glo site.
