View Full Version : Coach gun problem

Hope someone out there can help or point me in the right direction. Been shooting a Stoeger SXS for about a year now and as of the last two matches I'm having trouble with the back trigger firing pin not striking the primer hard enough. Shells are factory no reloads. I usually pull the front trigger first and then the second. At the last match I tried pulling the back trigger first and then the front and had no problems, but it is awkward for me to shoot that way. I did take the firing pin out and tried smoothing burs, etc, but was no help. I like the shotgun otherwise and hate to get rid of it. Any suggestions?
Thanking you kindly in advance.

http://www.hunt101.com/img/084890.jpg Hi Stampede Stan, since both triggers are independent of each other, there may be some type of mechanical bind or something worn or came loose, maybe some type of debris has gotten in there, take off the buttstock and operate the weapon and feel and see for any irregularities, get a enlarged version of your gun manual at the office supply store, good luck M1014 smile.gif http://www.hunt101.com/img/109601.jpg

You might check the transfer bar also. I just replaced mine and the problem went bye bye.
