Yes, that is normal. The gun runs on recoil, it fires the bottom barrel then the top because of the recoil from the bottom barrel.

Not exactly.
The Condor has mechanical triggers, not inertial triggers. It does not require any recoil to make the upper barrel fire. Guns with true inertial triggers need the first barrel to fire before the second one will.
Put snap caps in, and if you pull the trigger on your Condor twice, both barrels will go "click."
The rattle you're hearing is the linkage that resets the hammer springs when you open the action. If you open the action there's a bar in the bottom center that gets pushed towards the receiver when you open the action. When you reclose the action, that part has no spring tension on it, so it is free to move.
No worries.

tim you must have an older condor or a differnt model my'n has inertial triggers. after my fiascio with customer service about myn not working correctly i finaly got the answer from the gunsmith at bennelli. if you **** the gun fire the first bbl then bump the gun on the floor you can hear the second trigger set. also if you tip the gun all the way upside down trigger faceing up the gun will not fire at all. i think they must have made 2 differnt base models myn was bought at dicks and some times if a retailer orders enough of a product the manufacture will change the design to save money. beretta did it on the 391 for walmart they sell a 390 for less than half the price as the 391 and unless you realy look hard and or know what to look for you will never notice the differnce un till it breaks. fyi since i got my condor back from service it hasen't had one lick of problems after 600 rounds. other than im still a poor shot smile.gif

fezman,
I'll be darned. I didn't know that. My mistake.
Sorry folks, my older Condor (bought in 2000) is definitely a different design.
Glad to hear your Condor is working for you now. I sympathize with being a poor shot. I'm still practicing.
Tim
