recoil reducers

I have a stoeger model 2000 shotgun and will be hunting turkey with it. I'd like to make several additions to the gun.
Limb saver recoil reducer butt plate?
Turkey choke?
Sling system?
Has anyone added these features to their Stoeger and if so How did it work?????Thanks

Dont waste your money on pads!!! I have a 2000 and have solved all of your problems with recoil!!!! The stock hole in the 2000 is exactly 4.5 inches deep..... the benelli mercury recoil reducer just so happens to be 4.5 inches long...get it??? I wrapped a little electrical tape around the ends so that it would fit snug and wah lah!!! I also have put in a "poormans recoil reducer" that goes inside of the mag tube!!! it is only 25 bucks from www.tommortonandcompany.com (http://www.tommortonandcompany.com) and it also balances out the weight of the gun....my $435 gun with a total of about $70 added to it turned into a $1300 benelli......!!!!!!!!!!!! I suggest getting the mag tube reducer first if price is an issue!!!! birdkilr

However, seems there is a problem with the diameter of the reducer being a little big to fit the spring retainer inner diameter. I have e-mailed Mr. Morton on this subject and wonder how you solved this problem. Dane

OK...I see... i used the gun like that for a while but then went back and took a few nickels(thats right nickels) , wraped a small piece of electrical tape to hold them together and put them inside of the retainer just enough to keep the metal on the reducer off the retainer.....also , because i didn't trust the retainer to hold back all of this...i put a couple of nickels inside of the cap just in case the retainer lets loose it will not come out. I hope that this helps!!!! let me know how it shoots and what you think about it!!! Oh, have you had any pad work done yet?? I added about 3/4 inch to mine and it helped keep it out of my face alot!!!!! birdkilr

Interesting idea. Is the 4.5 inch hole in all the Stoeger 2000 stocks (wood & synthetic)?

I also did the nickel inside the retainer. Just in case I needed to call home ;). I also put some washers inside of the cap as you did. Took it out for ducks the other day and the poor mans recoil reducer seemed to work fine. The real test will be this week when I take it to hunt swans on the coast of NC. Heavy shot, 3" is a real test. On another issue: Has anyone here patterned their gun? When I did it would seem that it throws a pattern that is a little left and low from my gun. I tried all of the chokes provided and seem to have the same result. Is there any steps to alleviate this?

My gun is wood with a 4.5" hole ....I'm not sure about the synthetic.

Dane.....If it seems that your gun shoots low and left it had to do with the fit of your gun snd how it sits on your shoulder.....you may have to make some minor adjustments .......I say this because one of the most important steps to fitting a gun is to pattern it to see where it is shooting...after I had mine fit to me it shoots strait as an arrow...I have shot 5 strait perfect rounds in skeet since then!! search the net for "stock fitting guide"...I found one and had it e-mailed right to me for 14 bucks...it tells you everything that you need to know about what might need to be done to your gun....Oh....I shot 3" #4's two weeks ago and it shot like a freaking champ!!! Four of us limited out in about an hour!!! thats 24 ducks!! We were in La. marsh though...ducks are very plentiful there!!! let me know if you have anymore questions!!! birdkilr

even better Idea!!!! what I ended up doing was put the mercury recoil reducer in the magazine tube....I had to shorten my spring a little but it holds 3" shells and the weight of the gun is more forward and balances it out ALOT!!!! birdkilr
